The Trials and Tribulations of A Travelling Art Salesman

Being a bit of an outsider sometimes has its problems. Not least having to transport boxes of art work to and from London... but sometimes it pays off, meaning I return much lighter than when I left... Thankfully, this has been one of those week's. I made some great new contacts, had a few good sales and did some planning for an upcoming show featuring six of the Agents of Change at the David Bloch Gallery in Marrakech. (More details to come on that later.)...

Black Syntax (i) - 'Graffuturism' group show in Los Angeles

I've got work showing in 'Graffuturism', the self-titled group show, organised by the founder of the art blog Graffuturism.com. Since its inception in 2010 the blog has rapidly grown in popularity and showcases a broad range of artists, primarily with a background in Graffiti Art.

The show opens on the 14th at the Soze Gallery, Los Angeles, and features around 40 artists! Here's the full line-up, along with a detail shot of the work I'm submitting...

The Syntax Series

The Syntax Series is an exploration into the structure and language that lies beneath the city surface. This is emphasised by the use of bill posters which make up the main medium. The posters are torn down and reassembled on board, before being pared back to reveal past layers of communication.

Country Music / Daytime TV / Francis Bacon

Whilst simultaneously watching a Time Life ad on daytime TV, and perusing through a Francis Bacon book, an idea for a cross pollination occurred.
