Exhibition at White Walls Gallery, San Francisco

My latest exhibition 'The Topography of Time' opens at White Walls Gallery in San Francisco on October 11th.

RSA Open 2013

I'm happy to announce that one of my artworks has been selected to show in the Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibition. The show opens this Saturday and runs until  January 26,  2014.

Group show in Amsterdam: 'Neue Stille #1'

I'm happy to announce that my first venture with the Klerkx Art Agency will be as part of the group show, Neue Stille #1, opening 9 June. The show is 'An exhibition dedicated to the art of silence, experiment and contemplation.'

The Syntax Series

The Syntax Series is an exploration into the structure and language that lies beneath the city surface. This is emphasised by the use of bill posters which make up the main medium. The posters are torn down and reassembled on board, before being pared back to reveal past layers of communication.

Infinite Histories

"History is written by the victors" gives credence to the notion that historical events are not singularly quantifiable, but are more so a culmination of multiple actions and consequences viewed from many perspectives. 

The Infinite Histories paintings are based on this, and consists of opposing stills taken from an animation of a rotating skull. The polar opposite views were then freeze-framed and combined to create a hybrid, with equal priority given to each perspective.

The paintings were created over a two year period using subject matter and materials that allude to the passage of time, dissemination, preservation and alteration. Media includes: Xerox transfers, bitumen, cardboard, metal, gold leaf, correction fluid and spray paint.

Infinite Histories (iii) & (iv) were made in 2012. Infinite Histories (i), 2010, and Infinite Histories (ii), 2011.
